Pork

I keep on hearing that the war is costing too much or we are not doing enough for the poor or gas cost to much. Well let me ask a question. What could the government do with 20 Billion dollars? That’s a lot of money for sure. Well that’s how much pork the Democrats in congress slipped into the budget just before Christmas that were not part of the original budget. Of cause they did not tell us that. It went for things like $113,000 for rodent control in Alaska or a million for Idaho’s weed management. Some others are:

  • $2,000,000 to the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service,
  • $1,000,000 to the Clinton School of Public Service,
  • $200,000 to the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy,
  • $500,000 for Our Piece of the Pie,
  • $50,000 to Everybody Wins!,
  • $400,000 to the Montana World Trade Center,
  • $3,743,014 related to the Formosan subterranean termite,
  • $1,500,000 to the AFL-CIO Working for America Institute,
  • $100,000 for signage and streetscape improvements in the Los Angeles Fashion District, and
  • $100,000 to the Hunting and Fishing Museum of Pennsylvania.

The House and Senate appropriations bills currently contain 11,351 such projects.”

Now don’t get me wrong the Republicans were almost as bad when they held the power. The problem is that the Democrats said they would change the rules so this abuse would no longer happen that there was a culture of corruption. Well it looks like they did change things they brought even more corruption with them. Now think about this, what would happen if they had a President who thought like them?
