Bibles and Guns

Not to long ago I heard a Presidential Candidate state that we Rural Americans are bitter so we cling to our Bibles and Guns. Well at first I was dumfounded that a Presidential Candidate would say something as ridicules as that. That the only reason we cling to our Bibles and Guns was that we were bitter. The more I thought about it the more upset I got mainly because at one time I flirted with the idea of voting for this guy. As time has gone by I am glad I decided that he was the wrong person for the job. But let me explain to him and the other left wing elitist’s that do not understand why I cline to my Bible and Guns. I speak for my self not all Rural Americans, but I think a lot feel the way I do.

First of all I cline to my Bible because I believe and I am continually trying to better understand of my God, not because I am bitter. You see my bible goes where ever I go. At home it is out on my nightstand or dresser and at work it is normally on my desk. This way it is always available for me to read and to research if I have questions and yes I do read it every day. You see I believe that by continually studying it I have a better idea on what my God wants from me and how I can improve myself. You see I realize that I am not perfect and realize that I fall short of what my God expects from me and also understand that I will always be a work in progress. Also, do not forget that our founding fathers would open every meeting with a prayer.

Now as far as my guns go, I served for over 20 years in our military to defend this great country of ours and yes I had to carry a gun. I did this to defend the Ten Commandants, not the one in the Bible but the Bill of Rights. But think about it, our founding fathers thought that the right to bare arms was so important that it comes in second, right after the right to free speech, freedom of religion and freedom of the press. They understood that those citizens who did not have the right to bare arms can be at the mercy of a corrupt government. Luckily for us, we have been able to solve most of our problems at the ballet box. So, on November 4th of this year when my country calls on me again, I will go to the ballet box and defend her again this time with my vote. And sir that vote will not be for someone who believes that I am bitter and forgets that this country is great because of “WE” the people not because of the government. Yes the government affords us the opportunity but it is us the people who actually do it.

A Bible and Gun Clinging Country Loving American.

Ladies in skimpy cloths!

Ladies in skimpy cloths!

As some of you might or might not know I manage a furniture store in Raleigh. Now I have been holding off on talking about this for awhile. The reason is I was afraid on how to approach the subject. But this past weekend was the straw that broke the camels back. Let me explain, one of my co-workers was helping a lady up load up her new table. As they were putting the box into her vehicle her boobs (AKA Breasts) bounced out of her blouse she looked up at him and stated will I guess you got your tip and laughed. She then got into her vehicle with her boobs still hanging out and drove off. Not to long ago I was showing this couple a mattress and the lady was wearing a really short dress. She jumped on the mattress and exposed everything. Being the gentlemen that I am I moved to the side so as not to get the view. Her husband then said don’t look up my wife’s dress. I explained to him that was why I moved off to the side so I would not have to. What I really wanted to say was if you were so concerned about that she should not have worn that dress. But then again I was trying to sell a mattress. Just this past Saturday a lady about 25 came into the store with a real low cut blouse and jumped into a big swivel chair. Her boobs almost came out of blouse. She at lest was or appeared to be embarrassed, well maybe because she was with her mom and dad. What I think I am trying to say is, ladies if you wear outfits like this expect men to look after all we are only human, and husbands and or boy friends if your wife or girl friend wears stuff like that don’t get mad when other men look, because husbands and boy friends you know dang well that you look when you’re not with your wife or girl friend. Heck I have seen you look when you are with them. On the other hand ladies if you look like a Sumo Wrestler PLEASE cover it up and for goodness sake don’t wear spandex. It makes you look like a beached whale. And you other ladies well if you are going to wear that real skimpy stuff expect us guys to look. One last thing to remember is that you just might give us older guys a heart attack. So if it’s me I hope that you are up to date on CPR. Wink, Wink.

Obama and Mccain

The cartoonist has a point here. When Obama did show up to vote he voted present or just did not show up on the tough issues just so he could say he did not vote for it or against it depending on how the issue plays out with the American people. Is this the type of leader we want one who will not take a stance on the tough issues? I might not agree with McCain on some issues but at lest he takes a stance even if it’s not popular

The other thing is what kind of change is Obama talking about? I still not heard any specifics. He keeps on going on and on but never tells us how he plans on changing anything except that he plans on raising taxes. Again I am not a big fan of McCain but at lest we know where he stands.

Bush's War

I read an article in my local paper where a writer complained about Bush’s war. I am getting tired of hearing from the left that this is Bush’s war. I would like to know how this could be just Bush’s War. Did not the congress vote and authorize this War? Did we not get most of our intelligence from other nations because under the Clinton Administration our intelligence agencies were gutted? It’s really funny how when we first went to war in Iraq how many politicians were trying to get their picture taken with President Bush because they wanted to make sure everybody knew they voted for the war, because this was the in thing to do. That was both Democrats and Republicans. Then when WMD was not found the politicians started to back away from their support of the war. What people forget or just don’t want to remember the facts that the Russians, the Israelis (who have one if not the best intelligence agencies), the English, the French, the Saudi’s, the Jordan’s, the Iranians (yes the Iranians) and just about every other nation thought Iraq had WMDS. It was not just the United States. So as any intelligent person, you can see this was and is not Bush’s war this is OUR WAR. It also goes to show you that if you don’t totally destroy your enemy you loose. We have been fighting this war with one hand tied behind our back. Did we not learn anything from Korea or Viet Nam? Yes, this war should have been over long ago but we did not want to offend our so called friends.

Forced to stay

Forced to stay

Comment to an article in the News and Observer titled Forced to stay, our local paper here in North Carolina.

You said you moved from California! Why did you move from California? Is it because of all the illegal immigrants, HIGH crime rates and the HIGH taxes? Now I do agree with you that our immigration system stinks. I believe that we do need a guess workers program that would allow temporary workers to come to this country.  But, I do stress the word TEMPORARY. I also believe there should not be a road to citizenship, or should they be allowed to participate in our social security system. Also, since they are temporary workers their children born here should not be automatic United States citizens. Yes, if we feel there is a problem we should write our representatives and not take it out on those here illegally. But, isn’t there a big immigration problem and isn’t California on the verge of bankruptcy in part because of that problem? So we should do as California has done and bankrupt North Carolina also? I don’t think so.

This is the problem with you big liberals from the West Coast, New York and the other big liberal states. You failed there with your policies and now you have run away from that failure leaving someone else to clean up your mess and want to do the same thing here. Then when you fail here you will run away again and leave us to clean up your mess.

I deal with immigrants every day and I do not ask if they are legal or illegal because they have come to me to spend their money. I deal with Arabs, Russians, Orientals, and yes Spanish speaking. But as far as these being good people, yes most are but remember that some of them are here illegally and broke our law. Also, remember that if they tried to learn English that maybe there would not be so much resentment. I have found that when ever immigrants from no matter where they come from attempts to speak English they are received warmly but when they refuse to at lest try they are not. I found this the same when I was stationed in Germany, those of us who attempted to learn German were accepted by the German people and they went out of their way to help us. But, those who did not try found it difficult when they left the base. Just as those immigrants here legal or illegal who do not try to learn English.

One more thing they are not forced to stay, they can leave anytime they want.

Thank You

David G. Speckhardt Sr.

Obama and Dems

Here are some facts if you are willing to take the time and check them out. Trouble is I feel most Americans are not willing to take the time to get the facts. They listen to the nightly news and believe everything they here. Then when the facts are do come out they ignore them because they are lazy. A good example of this is when I asked some friends of mine did they here what Senator Obama said; I was told I don’t believe this did you hear it? When I said yes I listened to his speech and this is what he said. The answer I got was oh. They still did not believe me because it did not fit what they heard on the nightly news. I even told them where to go and read his speech for them self’s. I do not believe that they would go and see for them self’s. America needs to wake up of we are lost.

Senator Obama and a gaggle of liberal legislators started stumping for a windfall tax on oil... a strategy guaranteed to do only one thing... raise the price of gasoline.

A generation ago, the Carter Administration imposed just such a tax and the results were disastrous: a reduced incentive to drill for oil, a drop in domestic production, severe shortages, and long lines at the pump.

Obama was a teenager at the time, but you'd think he'd remember.

Hamish McRae published an article with a title that says it all:  "Oil at $100 a barrel will do more to save the planet than all the wind farms in the world."

Amid soaring gas prices, President Bush rightly announced on Monday that he would lift a long-standing executive order banning offshore oil drilling in an effort to increase domestic production.

And, he essentially dared Congress to do the same!

But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid responded by telling us the American people to drop dead. According to media reports, Reid also came right out and said he would block any amendments to lift the ban on off shore drilling. Rather, Reid is vowing to ram through legislation that could add 30 Percent To The Cost of Crude.

One last thing, I hear that Reid and others are claming that the Oil Companies have leases they are not drilling on and he does not see why they should give them more. What he does not tell you are that the Oil Companies have explored them and reported that there is either no oil or the cost to drill is prohibitive.

Do yourself a favor and check the facts before we send a novice and Socialist to the Presidency.

Obama in 08

Are you joking? Me vote for a Socialist who is trying to destroy my country? How can any American who loves their country vote for a Marxist? Yes that is what he is. He wants to use the courts to take away my freedom and raise my taxes and give it to some slob who does not want to work. He also knows that if he really told the American people the real change he wants they would not vote for him so he and the rest of the Demarcated Party hide behind a general statement of change. Change yes more power to the government and less for the people. That is not want this country was founded on. I will do everything in my power to keep him out of office.

Congressman Etheridge

I really could not believe what I heard the other day. Congressman Etheridge (Second District and North Carolina) said he did not want us to drill for oil. He said on Talk Radio 680 that he was against drilling for oil off shore because he did not want the North Carolina coast to become a Exxon/Mobil sea shore. That it would take 10 years anyway to develop the oil. Well let’s take the first point: Norway drills off their coast and it has not become an Oil Company coastline. They still have a beautiful coast line that attracts visitors every year. They are also one of the most environmental friendly countries in the world. Yet they drill off shore and do it safely. Talking about doing it safely when hurricane Katrina came though the Gulf Coast we did not loose a drop of oil from any of the 1,000 oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Norway from what I have read is energy independent. That is just one example of many you can find if you just looked. The internet is a wonderful thing. Next I hear it would take 10 years to develop. Well back when then President Clinton vetoed the energy bill that would have allowed us to drill in Anwar he said it would take 10 years and by then we would not need it. Well guess what it’s been 10 years and we do need it. So what Mr. Etheridge what do we do? Let the price of gas keep on going up to what $5.00 or more before we do something. Yes, I would also like to see alternative forms of energy developed but I do not want to pay $4.00 or more for gas while we develop the technology for it.

Another thing Mr. Etheridge, why is it that the Chinese can drill of the coast of Florida and our Oil Companies can’t. Just in case you all did not know, Cuba has signed an agreement with China allowing them to drill of the coast of Cuba and that puts them about 60 miles off the coast of Florida. Is not the Chinese one of the worst pollutes and has almost no lest interest in protecting the environment? So just think with their tract record of what could happen to the coast of Florida when not if an accident happens. So the way I understand it Mr. Etheridge that it is OK for foreign governments to drill off our coast and destroy our coast line. But our own companies who have an excellent track record in protecting the environment can’t. Something is wrong with this picture. I hear that we need a change in Washington and I agree we do and I think that every voter in the Second District should take a long hard look at your record on this issue before they send you back again, because if you go back you sure are not going to do anything to help with gas prices. You see I think you forgot why you originally went to Washington and that was to help the people in the Second District and North Carolina.

Drilling for Oil

To: Congressman Etherege, Senator Dole, and Senator Burr

I want to know why we haven’t been allowed to drill off the US coast or in Alaska or in any place else. Do not give that that bull about protecting the environment. When we know that has nothing to do with why we can’t drill. Example we have over 1,000 oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and when Katrina came through we did not loose any oil. Also, in Alaska where we do have pipe lines it has actually helped the environment. How did it help just look at the pictures. Oil needs to be transported though the pipes hot so it melts the snow and allows grass to grow around the pipes; thus feeding the Elk and Moose, which has increased the population of both. So this goes to show that the environmentalist got their head up their third point of contact.

We have from the reports I have seen from the government we have more oil in this country and off our coast then the whole Middle East. If we were allowed to drill we would then be the largest oil producer in the world. Just think of the money that would come into this country not to mention the power we would have over our enemy’s. What about Nuclear Power? Why haven’t we allowed any new Nuclear Power plants to be built? Come on if you were really concerned about us the little people you would be jumping up and down because we can’t drill.  So tell me again how it’s bad for the environment and why China can drill off the coast of Florida and our own Oil Companies can’t.

Democrates Broken Promises Republicans are just as bad

Hey All

DEMOCRATS’ PROMISES: TRANSPARENCY IN SPENDING TAXPAYER DOLLARS

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #65: “Get Rid of All” Earmarks
Promise: “Breaking with many Democrats, Ms. Pelosi also spoke out against earmarking billions of dollars for home-state projects, a practice she calls a ‘monster’ that hurts Congress. ‘I’d get rid of all of them,’ she says. ‘None of them is worth the skepticism, the cynicism the public has . . . and the fiscal irresponsibility of it.’” – “Pelosi Promises Fiscal Restraint If Democrats Win,” Wall Street Journal, July 13, 2006

Broken Promise: “Ranking Democrats vowed in December to put a moratorium on earmarks; instead, a record number infect legislation pending in Congress, with 32,000 requests this year, compared with about 13,000 in 2006 …. Ideally, congressional Democrats would keep their pledge to ban earmarks altogether.” – “Earmark Chicanery,” Press-Enterprise (Riverside, CA) Editorial, June 20, 2007

Broken Promise: “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi slipped in a $25 million provision for San Francisco's waterfront on a $15 billion federal water bill at the last minute. It’s pork barrel spending, yes, but more than that. Republicans are crying foul because the federal cash for port improvements and the bill's provision for Pier 35 cruise ship dockage all benefit a toney area of San Francisco -- one where Pelosi's husband just happens to own real estate about a mile away.” – Investor's Business Daily, May 9, 2007

Broken Promise: “In the bill funding EPA and Forest Service projects, Speaker Pelosi obtained $700,000 for a grant for San Francisco for use in the Lower Mission District. . .” – “House panel approves ‘earmarks’ for lawmakers’ home districts, Associated Press, June 22, 2007

Broken Promise: “This year, the House approved a $504 billion defense authorization bill. Among the requesters, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has one earmark in the bill, for $10 million for Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, as part of the military construction portion of the defense budget.” – “$8B of Pork: Dems Take 60 Percent,” The Hill, May 22, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #66: Subject Earmarks to Public Scrutiny
Promise: “Put an end to secret earmarks...” – Letter to Majority Leader Boehner (R-OH) from Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Democratic Caucus Chairman James Clyburn (D-SC), and Democratic Caucus Vice-Chairman John Larson (D-CT), February 9, 2006

Promise: “Pelosi and Reid are making the loudest calls for an end to basically anonymous earmarks that, late in the process, are quietly attached to legitimate legislation and then approved by legislators who are unaware of the earmarks and their intent.” – “Democrats Must Make Good on their Vows to Ensure Transparency in Earmarks,” Columbus Dispatch Editorial, November 20, 2006

Promise: “We will bring transparency and openness to the budget process and to the use of earmarks, and we will give the American people the leadership they deserve.” – Speaker-Elect Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Press Release, December 12, 2006

Broken Promise: “When Democrats took control of Congress four months back, incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., bragged it would take her party less than 100 hours to curb wasteful pork spending by requiring members to attach their names to their ‘earmarks,’ exposing such waste to the harsh light of public scrutiny. She failed to mention this ‘reform’ would remain in effect for little more than 100 days.” – “Democratic Earmark Reforms Lasted 100 Days,” Las Vegas Review Journal Editorial, June 5, 2007

Broken Promise: “The new game that House Appropriations Chairman David Obey intends to play with budget earmarks this year is worse than the usual hide-and-seek. He is taking the whole thing underground, as though he is to be trusted as a one-man auditor for congressional pork. If this is to be the new ethic that Democrats promised, voters might want their ballots back.” – “Pet Projects Pushed Out of Public Eye,” St. Petersburg Times Editorial, June 5, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #67: Ensure Members Have No Financial Interest in Earmarks They Sponsor
Promise: “Another key Democratic reform requires House members seeking earmarks to certify that neither they nor their spouses have any financial interest in the project.” – “In the Democratic Congress, Pork Still Gets Served,” Washington Post, May 24, 2007

Broken Promise: “[Pelosi] requested $25 million for a project to improve the waterfront in her home district of San Francisco. Her request did not note that her family owns interests in four buildings near the proposed Pier 35 project.” – “In the Democratic Congress, Pork Still Gets Served,” Washington Post, May 24, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #68: Allow Lawmakers to Challenge Individual Earmarks
Promise: “I think, first of all, with any bill, any provision, whether it is an earmark or not, there should be transparency. So that’s what we have said – and I hope you would agree – that before Members vote on a bill there should be appropriate time for people to be able to read it, that it would be a matter of public record, and if there is an earmark that can stand the scrutiny, then that transparency will give the opportunity for it to be there.” – Then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Press Conference, March 16, 2006

Broken Promise: “Rather than including specific pet projects, grants and contract in legislation as it is being written, Democrats are following an order by House Appropriations Committee Chairman to keep the bills free of such earmarks until it is too late for critics to effectively challenge them. – “House Democrats Sidestep Their Own Rule to Shield Lawmakers’ Pet Projects From Scrutiny,” Associated Press, June 3, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #69: Pass an Earmark-Free Continuing Resolution
Promise: “‘This is an earmark-free bill,’ says Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D) of Illinois, who chairs the Democratic Caucus.” – “The House and Senate Struck a Deal on Spending Bills Wednesday in a First Test of Reining in Deficits,” The Christian Science Monitor, February 2, 2007

Broken Promise: Emanuel and other Democratic leaders brought a massive spending bill (“continuing resolution”) to the floor during the opening weeks of the 110th Congress, and claimed it was earmark-free -- but the bill actually contained hundreds of millions of dollars worth of hidden earmarks. “. . .[The Democrats’] claim of ‘earmark’ purity doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. …The ‘no earmarks’ loophole was big enough to allow a convoy of earmarks into the final bill, including $185 million for agriculture research projects and $50 million to build an experimental rain forest in Iowa.” – “Democrats’ No Earmark Pledge ‘Doesn’t Stand Up to Scrutiny,’” Opinion Journal’s Political Diary, February 2, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #70: Apply Earmark Reforms to Earmarks in Tax and Authorizing Bills
Promise: “You can’t just have earmarks viewed on the appropriations bill unless you take up earmarks in tax bills and earmarks in authorization bills… But if you are going to have earmarks and you are going to have transparency, you have to do it in the appropriations bill and in the tax bill and in the authorization bill. I would put it in writing.” – Then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Press Conference, September 7, 2006

Broken Promise: “Republican leaders noted the deal only covers appropriations bills and pledged to continue to fight for more transparency in the authorization process. Minority Whip Blunt said there was absolutely no reason not to extend the proposal to authorization and tax bills.” – “House Dems, GOP Still Struggling to Cement Earmark Deal,” CongressDaily PM, June 14, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #71: Hold Members Accountable
Promise: “[W]e will help bring back fiscal responsibility by holding members accountable for their earmarks …” – Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Press Release, January 3, 2007

Broken Promise: “[W]e were unable to vet properly and certify properly the 32,000 requests. But we had to move ahead with the appropriations bill.” – Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Interview on CNN’s American Morning, June 13, 2007. Instead of holding members accountable for their earmarks, House Democratic leaders attempted to move appropriations bills that included slush funds for secret earmarks – earmarks that would be “airdropped” into House-Senate appropriations conference reports at the last minute, eliminating virtually all member accountability for those earmarks.

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #72: Provide Notice of Earmark Requests
Promise: “A Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner who requests a congressional earmark, a limited tax benefit, or a limited tariff benefit in any bill or joint resolution (or an accompanying report) or in any conference report on a bill or joint resolution (or an accompanying joint statement of managers) shall provide a written statement to the chairman and ranking minority member of the committee of jurisdiction...” – Democrats’ House Rules Package, Clause 17 of Rule 23

Broken Promise: “Murtha addressed the letter only to Intelligence Committee Chairman Silvestre Reyes (D-TX), not Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI), the panel’s ranking member. Hoekstra has said he was not given a copy – an apparent violation of House rules. All earmarks must be disclosed in writing to both the chairman and ranking member.” – “Murtha Sent Earmark Letter Five Weeks After Deadline,” The Hill, May 22, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #73: Outlaw Use of Earmarks to Buy Votes
Promise: “The package produced by Obey, Barney Frank (D-MA), David Price (D-NC), and Tom Allen (D-ME)…is designed to…outlaw the use of earmarks to buy votes...” – Press Release from the Kansas Democratic Party, January 10, 2006

Broken Promise: On NBC’s Meet the Press, host Tim Russert asked several questions of Ways & Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-NY) on Democratic leaders buying votes to win passage of their “slow-bleed” scheme:

RUSSERT: “But in that bill was $20 billion of so-called pork, money for cricket infestation, tours of the Capitol, security at the National Convention, peanut crops. Why would the Democrats put that kind of money in such a serious bill?”

RANGEL: “Because they needed the votes. That bill, we lost so many Democrats, one, because people thought we went too far and others because we didn’t go far enough. And so a lot of things had to go into a bill that certainly those of us who respect great legislation did not want in there.” – NBC’s Meet the Press, April 1, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #74: Scrutinize Every Spending Request
Promise: “[Democrats] are committed to auditing the books and subjecting every facet of federal spending to tough budget discipline and accountability, forcing the new Congress to choose a new direction and the right priorities for all Americans.” – Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) “A New Direction for America,” Page 25

Broken Promise: Instead of spending time during the opening months of the 110th Congress subjecting appropriations bills to unprecedented scrutiny, Democratic appropriators spent four months attempting to pass a supplemental appropriations bill they knew would be vetoed. Then when it came time to move forward with the 12 standard appropriations bills, Democrats created slush funds for secret earmarks, claiming they didn’t have the time to review every earmark request. “Obey has defended his policy as a practical necessity. He said his staff cannot address each of the more than 30,000 earmark requests members have already filed in time to finish work by the Fourth of July recess.” – “Dems, GOP Near Deal to End Spending Fight,” The Politico, June 13, 2007

DEMOCRATIC PROMISE #75: Require Members to Disclose Earmark Requests
Promise: “Upon taking control of Congress in November’s midterm elections, Democrats vowed…to require lawmakers to disclose their requests and to certify that money they are requesting does not benefit them.” – “In the Democratic Congress, Pork Still Gets Served,” Washington Post, May 24, 2007

Broken Promise: The new majority has made no move to require their members to disclose their earmark requests. And while Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) called on some members to make public all their requests, he pointedly refused to call on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to do so, and she has not. As the Washington Post reported: “The new majority is already skirting its own reforms.” – “In the Democratic Congress, Pork Still Gets Served,” Washington Post, May 24, 2007

It seems that my articles have been missed

It seems that my articles have been missed. My son and I have been asked many times when shopping or in church when will the next article come out? Well I do want to thank you all for your support and interest. Just to let you all know like most average Americans that I know I have two jobs just to make ends meet in today’s economy. I get home most nights and after dinner a beer or glass of wine, all I want to do is go to sleep. Now don’t get me wrong I am not complaining it is my choice. But when I here the three main candidates who are still running for president want to raise my taxes I do get a little upset. Oh, they say it will only affect the rich but, I have heard that before. It seems that every time they (the government) raise the taxes on the so called rich either my taxes go up (anybody that knows me, knows I am not rich) or the price of everything I buy goes up and in most cases both happens. The latest thing I here is wind fall profit tax. Well we did that back in the 70s when Jimmy Carter was president, and we ended up with double digit unemployment and double digit inflation. We also had a Demarcated President and Demarcated Congress. If this does not send off warning signals we are in trouble. Don’t get me wrong, lately the Republicans have been no better. So what do you? Me I am looking at the Libertarian Party, I do not agree with everything they stand for but at lest they understand that big government and high taxes are destroying my country. If you feel like me disenfranchised by the two main parties take a look at the Libertarian web site. Its time for us average Americans to take back our country form the lying whack jobs on the left and the I am afraid to speak up and tell the truth because I might offend somebody do nothings on the right. Don’t we have any Teddy Roosevelt’s, Harry Truman’s, or Ronald Ragan’s left? Men or woman with courage!

Elitist

Elitist

I have been listening to all this talk about Obama being an elitist lately. Well so what is new about this? Ever since the Democrats became Socialist they have been elitists. They go around and tell you that you need to drive smaller cars and need more earth friendly energy resources. Then you see them drive a round in big SUV’s and big private planes. They say we need more wind power then they fight against it when it’s in their back yard. It a typical case of do what I say not what I do. It is also a case of you are too stupid to know what is best for you so we will tell you. What else is funny is when they talk they talk down to you. Then when they try to talk on our level (that is like normal people) say things that get themselves in trouble. Like when Obama said people in small towns are bitter and there fore they cling to guns and religion. What he and others like him and Hillary Clinton do not realize is that small town America clings to religion because they have always had a strong religious foundation. Yes, we go to church and worship when times are bad and when times are good. Yes, even when things are good we still go to church. I realize that might be a shock to the Elitist. Also, most of small town America clings to guns because they believe in the Second Amendment and they actually hunt for food. Yes, I recognize that hunting for food might seem like a novelty to some but for many in small town America it is what they believe is a right and in some cases a necessity.

The only Democrat in recent years that actually was able to connect with the average American and I hate to admit this was Bill Clinton. Bill when he talked he actually sounded and acted like one of us. Lately he has lost some of his magic but he still sounds like one of us. Now on the other hand the only Republican that sounded like he understood what we were going through was Ronald Reagan. Both Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan when they talked gave us hope. None of the candidates, Democrat or Republican are giving us this same hope. Yes, we have them talking about hope and change but they have not said how. All they seem to do is alienate more and more Americans.

Where are the Ronald Reagan’s when we need them and I thought I would never say this but where are the Bill Clintons when we need them.

Sgt. Vela's courts martial

I just read the article about Sgt. Vela's courts martial. I was sickened by what I read. I am sorry that the Iraqi was killed but American lives are more important. What I mean is when you are in enemy territory you need to make harsh decisions. Take the fact that all small groups like the Sniper team knew about the four Navy SEALS (Marcus Luttrell the Lone Survivor) and what happened to them because they were humane and let that Afghan go. How in all 20 US Soldiers were killed. I am sorry but I think they were correct in killing that Iraqi. It’s a shame that our Government has forgotten how important our young men and woman mean to us. The liberal Democrats don’t care and the Republicans are missing in action again.

Dam Yankees

Dam Yankees!

I have a problem with these Dam Yankees that are moving to North Carolina. Now don’t get me wrong I am one of those Yankees my self, but the difference with me is I don’t want to bring the failed Socialist policies from up north with me. Heck that’s why I will not move back. Let me explain; for example when you talk to these Dam Yankees and ask why they came down here they say the taxes were too high up north, or the crime is too high, or the people are much friendlier here. Another reason they will say we (I consider myself a North Carolinian now) still have family values. So what do they want to do as soon as they can vote down here is turn us into what they left. It just doesn’t make sense to me. They start to vote for the same failed Socialist social programs that raised their taxes that they complain about. They are trying to run our state to the ground just like they did theirs. Then when they screw up our home they will pack up and leave us to clean up their mess. If you don’t believe me, just look at what they did to Florida and California. They brought all their failed polices to Florida and California which raised their taxes and property values so high that they could no longer afford to live there. Now a lot of them and some others from up north are now moving out and coming here and trying to do the same thing here. They just don’t get it, if it failed up north like in New York, and it failed in Florida and it failed in California what makes them think it will work here! Give me a break.

Some of the reasons I moved and stayed in North Carolina were because of the family values and the strong work ethic. Of cause you can’t forget the lower taxes. Because of these values I thought this would be a great place for my grandchildren to be educated and raised. But, these Dam Yankees want to make us a dumping ground for their rejected and failed socialist ideals. Again, if you check every place where these Socialist ideas were tried they have failed. Open your eyes just look at Ohio, New York, California, Florida just to name a few; sane people don’t want to live there, they want to leave. Oh it’s nice to visit them they say but not live there. I am sorry but no matter how many times you beat a dead horse he is not going to get up and run.

So what I say to these Dam Yankees is if you don’t like our values and standards go home. Don’t try to destroy our home like you did yours.

Tax the Rich

Tax the Rich

I am getting sick and tired of hearing we are going to tax the rich. Well I am not rich but every time they (the government) raise the taxes on the rich my taxes go up. Whenever they lower the tax my taxes went down. Again I am not rich. Let me ask this question, when was they last time a poor person gave you a job? Me I always got a job from either a rich person or a small business person but never from a poor person. This class warfare the Socialist (another name for Liberals) is playing has to stop.

What do the rich do with their money? Well let us look at that for a moment. The more they have the more they invest. The more they have to invest the more money is available for banks to lend so companies can expand. The more they (companies) can expand the more jobs there are for the rest of us. Now on the other hand the more they are taxed the less money they have to invest, the less they have to invest the less there is for banks to lend. The less for banks to lend and the result is the less expansion for companies then the fewer jobs are provided.

Now I do realize that most people are like me they went to government schools (public schools) and do realize that is a handicap. Another thing how much tax do you pay? When I ask this question I am surprised to find out how many people do not know how much tax is taken out of their check. What I am told is I get back such and such. They can not tell me how much they pay only what they get back. Then when I try to explain how much the government is taking from them I get the good old deer in the headlight stare.

In closing I would like to say until the average voter understands that this tax the rich is only a myth and if we do not change this Socialist Tax System devised by Carl Marx, this Republic is doomed.
